This was my third time seeing Samantha at The Birchmere. She puts on a great show that is well worth seeing. Once again I’m going to praise the lighting at The Birchmere. The last time I saw her I managed to get a photo pass from her management, but this time I didn’t even ask and just went with the pocket camera. When you are independent there is a lot that goes into getting a photo pass. For the most part moving forward I’m going to know the venues I can bring my pro camera to, as well as the venues that work with you to arrange a pass, and the bands that I have a good enough relationship with to ask to be put on the pass list. Outside of that I’ll use the pocket camera and not tag the venue in the post. The I.M.P. venues and The Birchmere won’t issue photo passes unless you are from a major publication. I’m trying to think of the last time I discovered a band through a major or even minor publication. Taken with my Canon G7x Mark ii.
